Hand Beaded Bridal Purse, Bridal Jewelry and Bridesmaids Accessories

Standard

Who doesn’t love a May Wedding and a beautiful bride!  My niece Megan, our current bride-to-be, is the inspiration for my recent creations!  With a stunning Hand-Beaded Purse and hand crafted Bridal Jewelry, her day is sure to be as remarkable as she is!

The Hand Beaded Purse design began with an ivory satin clutch in a shape that compliments her dress.  I like to pick a design detail from the brides dress to repeat on her purse.  The floral motif is found in the delicate lace throughout the bodice and underlay in the skirt.  In addition, I chose a shimmering pattern to highlight as well.  Delicate silver glass seed beads are used throughout the lace at the neckline for a subtle sparkle.  After the wedding I will add additional photos to show you the complete ensemble.

Back to the Hand Beaded Purse; every bead is stitched by hand, directly onto the purse.  I enjoy using a variety of beads from Swarovski crystals, glass seed beads, faceted European glass and various pearls in different shades and shapes.  The effect is multi-dimensional and can only truly be appreciated in person.  My attempts to photographs the details pale in comparison to the actual beauty of the piece.

The Bridal Jewelry was designed with Megan’s input.  She chose the delicate style of the drop necklace and the shape of the pendant earrings.  The results are a perfect complement to her stunning gown.  They add just enough sparkle and elegance, but not too much to overpower the main focus of her dress.

The Bridesmaid’s Jewelry is similar in style but made in a grayish purple and silver.  The chandelier earrings and drop necklace are inspired by Megan’s design.  I was very busy making 6 sets for the attendants to wear.  I will add more photos after the big day!

It has certainly been a very busy couple of months!  My little fingers have been beading away and enjoying every minute of it!  I hope you enjoy my newest works of art!

Have an awesome day!

Hand beaded Purse, Necklace and Earrings

Standard

My latest creations are labors of love!  My niece Alyssa turned 16 this week and I wanted to create a special keepsake for her to remember her day.  I decided to make her a hand beaded purse and necklace and earring set.  I truly enjoy creating items for her and her sister Emily because they love their accessories and my unique designs.  I know they value the work I put into each and every piece; being avid crafters themselves.  (I like to think I had a little something to do with that!  :})   I began with the hand beaded purse.  I try to find items I can purchase and embellish into a beautiful work of art.  This is the end result:

For the necklace and earring set I wanted to design an updated style.  The girls really love opera length necklaces, and who can resist Swarovski Crystals!  The chunky textured silver tone chain provides a perfect balance to the shiny sparkling crystals.  The end result was amazing and put a smile on Alyssa’s face!  That’s what it’s all about for me!  Nothing can take the place of a sweet happy smile!  XOXO

Welcome to my blog!  I’d like to start by saying this process is so outside of my comfort zone that I have been putting it off for months!  In fact, if my son had not generated the template for this blog, I would not be here right now.  I am intrigued, to say the least, and hope that what I share with you will be valuable and of interest.

My primary use of this medium is to share with you my passion for my work at this stage in my life.  I am an artist struggling with an identity crisis.  I just typed the word “artist” but then immediately drew a blank.  I have historically been defined by the roles that I have played in life.  Daughter; granddaughter; sister; friend; wife; mother; student; employee; co-worker; manager; etc.  To call myself an artist is uncomfortable for me.  My previous roles in life were easily defined for me as I progressed through the years and naturally evolved from one stage to next.  Some of them out of natural progression; some out of choice: and many out of necessity.  I did what was required of me at the time as I accepted responsibility for my life and the lives of my children.  They all made sense at the time, were practical and necessary and were natural in execution defining who I was as an individual.

Now that I am at stage in my life where requirements and necessity are not the primary drivers, I have the ability to explore and expand my artistic abilities.  A luxury I never thought possible!  In my previous lives I was always, and still am, known as the crafty one!  The sister or aunt or cousin with the eye for design and crafting abilities who can make jewelry and decorate houses and encourage the creative side in us all.  The one who always tries to make keepsake gifts, share the family photos, and record our family history.  I have been told many times throughout my life what a talented artist I am and that my creations are works of art.  A concept I am struggling to embrace.  A part of me feels unworthy of the artist title while the other part of me longs to own it.

I will take this opportunity to share with you what I do, what I have done and where I am going.  I hope that I will inspire you with my work as I have been inspired by others.  My goal is to embrace the concept, accept the responsibility and earn the title.  I’ll let you decide…….  I am honored to share this journey with you!
